Support for D-Link DFE-530TX+

Does RTP support the D-Link DFE-530TX+ card? It does not get recognized.
The pci utility shows the vendor ID as D-Link but does not recognize the
device ID.

Looking at this card I almost feel like it is a WinNetwork card. It has
pretty much just one chip on the whole damn card.

Bill,

I asked this same question on qdn.public.qnxrtp.newuser a couple
of weeks ago and received a response from Hugh Brown at QNX who
said…

“The DFE-530TX+ device ID has been added to the devn-rtl
driver, but has not yet been released.”.

Tom Worsnopp had the following additional input…

I ran into the same problem. I got the D-Link DFE-530TX+,
only to find out it doesn’t work with the preinstalled
drivers.

I’m using a 3Com 3C905B-TX now. The main problem I had was
finding anywhere that sold it. I got it from the following
site:

http://www.pc-beyond.com/

They’re kind of a hole in the wall, and you have to pay
through the nose for shipping, but I got the card in two
days, so whatever.

Following this, I purchased two of the 3Com cards Tom mentions
and both systems came up with NO FUSS.

Regards,

Charlie Hubbard

www.warehouse.com still has the netgear FA310 Tx’s for about 20 bucks a
piece.

or if you really want to stock up, why not buy 50

I know you probably didn’t want to hear a “Just can it and buy these”
remark, but I thought I’d pass it along anyway…

I have some DFE-530 TX+'s, and attempted to tell devn-rtl the device ids of
the card. devn-rtl loaded, but didn’t work. Did they do more than just add
the device/vendor id?

Thanks. But on this system, this is the only network card I can use. So I
guess the answer is “No”.

Thanks anyway

For what it’s worth…

In line with that, I’m using LinkSys LNE100TX cards, versions 4.0
and 4.1 because they were cheap ( under $25 at BestBuy ) and work
with all OS’s I have available to me.
