dual-processor machine

Finally, I have decided to go with dual-CPU machine instead of quad.
I found a Dell machine with spec. like below.

Dell Precision Workstation 470

dual Intel Xeon 2.8GHz, 1MB L2 Cache
512MB, DDR2, 400MHz, ECC(2 DIMMS)
C1- All SATA drives, Non-RAID, 1 drive total configuration
40GB SATA, 7200 RPM Hard Drive without RAID
48X CD-ROM
64MB PCIe x16 nVidia Quadro NVS 280, Dual VGA Capable

This costs $1,388.

I am concerned if QNX is stably working with this spec. If anyone experienced it, please advice me.

Another is I don’t know whether the price is reasonable. Is there any other dual-cpu box having lower price?

I would go with a single Dual-Core AMD, I don’t know if it will work with QNX, but I suspect it will.

I don’t know if the machine you specified will support QNX, sorry.

SATA will only work if the BIOS turn on IDE emulation in the chipset.

As for the video card I don’t beleive it will work in accelerated mode, but should work in VGA/VESA.

If you want accelerated graphics, better off with a Radeon card, although I’ve had bizarre results with accelerated graphics being slower at some things than the vesatweek driver on unsupported graphics hardware…
