Substitute for fs-cifs?

Ok…
Since I seem to have everyone stumped in the rtp.installation on this issue
(see the post fs-cifs wierdness) Is there some other GNU utility that will
connect me to a window’s share? This really has me hung up…it is hard to
do development w/o it as I need to connect to CVS and IS won’t put a server
up for us.

Thanks
Kevin

Just a note…smbclient works ok, but of course it doesn’t map shares to my
fs.

Maybe there is something I don’t understand but why do you need fs-cifs
to use cvs?
I use cvs server on qrtp and wincvs client on NT. the communication is
done through pserver.
If I want to edit a file, I use Samba.

Are you editing files located on NT from qrtp?

Alain.

The problem is I don’t have access to this server. It is behind a glass
wall deep inside the IS department. Just getting into the building requires
and escort. No one has really been inside, but there are rumors that the
IS people are carrying Uzi’s and other high capacity, rapid fire weaponry.
Installing pserver would mean instant death.
