USB Flash Drive - will it work?

USB flash drives (thumb drive/pen drive…) are really coming down in price
and I was wondering if USB flash drives work with QNX?

Furthermore what is necesary to get it up and running - besides starting up
devu-ohci or devu-uhci?

Will it work with QNX 6.1 also?

Hi Jens,

At this time we currently don’t have a driver for the USB flash drives,
however one could look into developing one by using the USB DDK. If this
is something that you need urgently the best thing to do is contact your
sales rep and let them know that you need support for this, they can also
offer custom engineering to get something like this done.

Hello Erick

It is by no means a critical feature for us. The reason I started looking at
was because of the lower cost of the USB flash drives and also some of the
obsolescence issues with floppy drives.

I believe that there will be a need for a cheap removable media in QNX in
the future, as floppies seem to be on their way out. I know the death of the
floppy has been predicted before, but this time I think there is something
about it.
