riva tnt2

Hi.

Is it possible to set-up my own “modelines” (like in linux) with the tnt
driver?
Default refresh rates (those I can set via display setup) won’t work for
me.
My monitor doesn’t like them - every time I boot I have to run OSD and
set almost all parameters (sizes etc). After reboot ALL is lost.
This is not monitor problem - when I change anything under linux
(refresh/resolution or any non-standard timings) my monitor “remembers”
it after reboot. In qnx - not. And one more thing - OSD says strange
things… ie. refresh set to 85hz - OSD says -85.12…)
Plus - no matter what is resolution/refresh I have serious v-linearity
problems (some black lines at the top of the screen) - OSD linearity
setup won’t help…

My pc: P3B-F, Diamond Viper v770 (tnt2) agp. Works perfectly under
linux/windows.

The goal is (eventually) to have a monitor centering/size/refresh control
utility. In the meantime, you can edit /etc/system/config/graphics-modes
and, specify any refresh rate you want (e.g. io-graphics -R72 …)

Note that this will not work for any video card, but it will work
on the TNT.

Also, if you’re brave, you can tinker with the resolution (-g…)
and make up your own, but only the resolutions that are supplied
by default are officilly supported. Hint: make sure the x resolution
is a multiple of 8
