Cirrus Logic video drivers for QRTP?

Well, I finally got QRTP running on my PC104 computer which uses a
CL-GD6235 graphics controller. It only works in 640x480x8 mode, which I
expected (I don’t need more than 640x480 because it is a 6.4 inch
display). I know there is a SVGA driver coming in patch A which will
increase the number of colors, but I am wondering if that will speed up
the graphics display. It is agonizingly slow now, even printing text in
a pterm. Better yet, has anyone written a driver for Cirrus Logic
chips?

Does the 6235 support anything more than 640x480, and anything
more than x8?
I had a similar case (not sure of the part #), but when I checked
the manual VGA was the best it gave. :<

I don’t a CL driver will see the light o day, not the 6235
anyway,as it is such an old chip…

I believe it supports 640x480x4096, up to 1024x768x16 (with 512K VRAM). Well,
I guess I will just wait for the SVGA driver…
