Problems with Matrox G450

Hi All,

I’m using a IYAMA 19" display on a Matrox Dualhead G450. The upper pixels on
my display are very bright. I have tried various things but still the same
problem. Also, the performance on high resolution is very poor (very slow
scrolling and so on…). I want to replace the Matrox with another card. Can
somebody provide me with a very good suggestion???
Thanks in advance,

Freddy

Hi Freddy,

What version of the OS are you running?

Thanks

Erick.

Ati’s Radeon 7500 or VE are very good cards for RTP 6.1.x

The thing you mention about scrolling, if you are thinking about
voyager, it is a bug.

Hi Freddy,

The problem with the upper pixels being bright is a problem
with the generic modeswitcher timings, this hasn’t been
fixed yet. This may be avoided by trying a different combination
of resolution and refresh rate.

Scrolling of window in helpviewer or voyager involved offscreen
blits which currently is not supported on G450 cards. At lower
resolution less information is being copied by the CPU so it
appears faster than at higher resolutions. I can’t say when
this feature will be added/fixed on G450s.

If your looking to buy a new card, the best supported cards
for QNX6 are cards based on the ATI Radeon or ATI Rage128 chipsets.

However an ATI 7500 or an 8500 are also very good cards as well.

Erick.
