phditto -m /dev/serx memory error core dump

Dear all

The online help says that phditto -m/dev/ser2 will bring up terminal that
allows a user to log onto a remote computer. All I get is a memory error
core dump message.

qtalk to the modem works fine so the hardware is alright.

Any insight.

The online help makes remote connectivity sound simple

phditto -m/devserx
type in phone number
logon
exec phrelay etc
bingo
photon on the remote

what a lot of crap. It was easy under 4.25 what went wrong with RTP.

I must admit that the tcpip connection is as simple as pie, so I must
congratulate QSSL for that.

Dear Brenda /GUI Group

Sorry if I was a bit turse in my previous email but I have become very
frustrated in my efforts to connect two qnxrtp boxes via modems and this is
not the only issue. As I said it was easy under 4.25.

Does this bug also mean that I cannot launch phditto from the connect menu
using pppd over a serial port/modem or is this ok as it is using tcp/ip.

Thanks Rod

Hi Rodney,

I double checked with the developers and you can use the pppd over a
serial connection because it is using tcp/ip. So this bug shouldn’t have
any effect on this.

Brenda
