trying some X Window IDEs...

I was trying to run some X-Window IDEs like Code Crusader, but couldn’t
run… After some researching, I found out that I had to have some libs (JX)
installed. Problem is that this libs hadn’t been ported to QNX RtP, and when
I try to compile, there are lots of errors…
Anyone ever tried to compile any X-Window IDE and run on QNX RtP?
I want to know if anyone had success before trying to figure it out.
If anyone knows about any IDE for C++ with code browser, let me know,
please!

Thanks in advance!

Whoops! I forgot to add class browser (i just could find Code Crusader and
KDevelop (?) with these features…)

I have Source Navigator from Redhat going, pretty slick. It’s a TCL
interface, compiles pretty much out of the box. No go on the integrated
gdb interface, though, it seems the TCL “open {| blah} r+” stuff doesn’t
work too well under RTP. I hacked it up to use pdb instead (via "on "),
but I wouldn’t consider this to be “integrated”.
The mighty Colin Burgess at some point mentioned that he had KDevelop
going, and was going to make it available (I tried to bribe hinm with
beer), I haven’t seen it yet, though …

Sorry Thomas, I’ve actually been away in San Jose for the ESC show.

Expect some KDE (hopefully version 2) activity in the very near
future.

Hey, no sweat

Some binaries in that department would be greatly appreciated, you
would save literally thousands of manhours (the whole KDE-1.94 enchilada
takes ~5 hours to build on my 2x600MHz Xeon running FreeBSD 4.1.1 …)

I just tried to uncompress version 4.5.2 and got tar:error exit delayed from
previous errors :frowning: Maybe I’ll try again.

Which version did you download?

How much did you need to change to get it running ?

I’ve got make running and now I’m getting libX11.so could not read symbols:
memory exhausted

Any clues ?

ok sorted that - more ram - silly me - 64megs wasn’t enough!

Right got snav built and running and is looking good but is tediously slow -
I mean REALLY slow in updating the various screens/popping menus up etc. Is
this snav or xphoton?

Any ideas what I can do to speed things up to a usable level?

Native port?

(sorry, couldn’t resist)

Addind MIT SHM and local transport support to Xphoton might help too

I just need shmat/shmdt/shmget/shctl igor
The next Xphoton will have a switch to turn off crc’s
on the images it draws (speeds it up a lot but then it
won’t work across phrelay)
