shared lib

is there another way than defining LD_ environment variable for
shared libs? can I use a config file such as linux’ /etc/ld.so.conf
to define a list of directories for shared libs?

thanks frank

(an after thought: i guess you could make a script file call it
whateryoulike.x, i like .x as the script extension as it easy
to know and remember and place that in a default path somewere,
(ill made a standard /root/scripts dir for these, must add that
as a default path one day) then add that *.x to the
/home/whatever-file-it-was that gets run at boot time, dont forget
to give any .x script an executable flag.)

yea, i was thinking this too, i`m used to the Amiga command >assign

ASSIGN libs: somedrive:somedir/somedir-i-want-user-libs-placed ADD

assign (typed without cli arguments produces this already ASSIGNed output)

the lines with + in them are the assign whatever-drive:werever ADD
simple to remember, simple to ADD any user dir to the default
shared LIBary: dir, how do we do that in RTP cli, can it be done
or simulated ? perhaps in an RTP script.
