CodeWarrior

I’m looking at news releases about new CodeWarrior but would like a bit
more detail.

  1. Is this running on RTP?
  2. Is it using gcc or Metroworks compiler?
  3. Is it using Dinkum libraries?
  4. Is license per machine? (That is, can multiple developers use a
compile server via Photon, Phindows, telnet, whatever)?

Hi Dean…

  1. Is this running on RTP?

Not currently. I do not know about future plans.

  1. Is it using gcc or Metroworks compiler?

It uses qcc based on gcc, but you can optionally use the Metrowerks
library which you should. I understand that the reason for this is that
QSSL uses the last variant of what has been out in the RTP world, and
whence they can not release something that has not been tested already.

  1. Is it using Dinkum libraries?

No, but I am sure that the next version will be based in the current RTP
environment which uses the Dinkum libraries.

  1. Is license per machine? (That is, can multiple developers use a
compile server via Photon, Phindows, telnet, whatever)?

Nope. I understand that it is a per developer license. But QSSL can
better answer this question.

Bests…

Miguel.

It’s using the gcc compiler.

  1. Is it using Dinkum libraries?

Yes (at least, the version based on our 6.1.0 SDK is)

I’m not 100% sure how Metrowerks works their licenses.

Thanks Colin. Is there a contact at Metrowerks that’s best for QNX6
questions?

Sorry Dean, I don’t know that.

I got my version a couple of weeks ago, and it says that the current SDK
version is: QNX Neutrino 2.11 June 2001.

Would this version be based on 6.1.0 SDK?

Thanks…

Miguel.

We’ve released the 6.1.0 SDK. I don’t think Metrowerks have released their IDE that
is based on it yet.

No, it is based on 6.0 SDK, which uses non-dinkum libraries.

At this time I don’t think there is a released version of CodeWarrior that
supports Windows SDK 6.1. To receive the latest CodeWarrior for QNX cd, you
must contact mw_qnxbeta@metroworks.com and go through the Metrowerks beta
process.

Marcin
