I wish. Vedit was a good editor. But unfortunatey Ted Green is not too

happy with QNX and is not interested in porting to RTP.

  1. Nedit. It has some minor bugs but otherwise pretty useful.

From: http://sourceforge.net/projects/qnxfree
See also www.NEdit.org.

  1. GNUEmacs. The version for QNX6 is (or was) available from
Cogent Realtime Systems. I have lost the exact URL or
    repository address.

For vi fans, vim (vi improved) is distributed with RTP. It supports multiple
file buffers, syntax
coloring, unlimited undo/redo, etc. If you like vi, you will love vim.

If you don’t like vi then, well, some of the other suggestions like emacs
are worth looking into.

Regards,
Max

It occurs to me that this came off much more curt than I intended. My point
was simply that I was not as satisfied with any of the RTP editors as with
vedit.

Hello Ran,

I´ve never used vplus but you can open multiple file in `ped´. To
change current file being viewed/edited you change the selected buffer.

ob:
thank you for recommending me the Nedit,
i got couple installation problem if u can help me out.

i first gunzip the file, then in /usr/local, I tar -xvf the file,
it creates nc, nedit exe in /usr/local/bin, in there, I typed ‘./nc’. it
said no connection for the server, I chose y, nedit started, then it crashes
after i was playing with it.
now, when i do the same thing,
it says “x11transSocketINETconnect
can’t connect, error 261”.

woudl u help me out? I noticed it supports multi-file viewing, but
didn’t detect up/down arrow keys

Hi!
Try “workspace”, it’s beta but looks pretty well. It is as attachment in “editor texte” thread,
created 20 Nov at qdn.public.qnxrtp.photon newsgroup. It works under Photon (not require X).
Best regards,
Eduard.
