I know that someone had addressed this once before, but I lost the thread.
I cannot run DDD from a phindows session. Whenever I type an underscore “_”,
none appears and anything I type after that is in uppercase. This is really
annoying, forcing me to run DDD on the host machine in the lab. I would
prefer to run it remotely from my desk instead.
I have downloaded Phindows 2.0 in the hopes of solving my problems, but this
did not fix the issue. If I remember the post correctly, there is some
configuration that must be performed after installation of X (funny thought
that this does not automatically occur as part of the QNX installation).
That’s right, this is because XPhoton is not localized and doesn’t
support any other keyboard than US.
Now I use VNC (look at http://sourceforge.net/projects/openqnx/), it
works fine and faster than with XPhoton.

Alain.

You are probably wasting money by using phindows.
You can send me your phindows license so that I can see if it can
be better used
since you are using ddd (an x applications), it doesn’t make sense
to use phindows->qnx photon->xphoton->x application.
it is a lot easier to do VNC → VNC server → x application

available on this site!

I use phindows to run “jed” and compile and link my applications.
I’d like to use DDD under phindows to debuy my applications as well.
Now, the statement “doesn’t support any keyboard other than US”, tends to
make me believe that I could get DDD running with the US keyboard - but I am
using the US keyboard (although I am using “Canadian English” for
language).
Am I missing something here. I distinctly remember a thread where someone
said that they have DDD running under Phindows, but they had to make changes
to some configuration files?

An alternative approach is to use an X server on the Windoze box, and set
DISPLAY in your Phindows pterm to connnect to the Windoze box. When you
launch ddd from a Phindows pterm, it opens an X window on the Windoze box.
