samba

Hi,

smbd or nmbd creates lot of process displayed as (unavailable) by psin.
I think that these process don’t do anything. I have an idea that they
have been created to perform a task and have been forgotten after.

Does anyone has the same problem?

Do you know what to do to prevent that?

Thanks,
Alain.

We have the same problem !!!

I thought it worked like nfsd, and created a controllable amount of
pre-allocated worker processes. But I did not see anything in the Docs

http://www.samba.org/

And I’m not seeing any extra’s on my Linux box, will experiment more.
