The current binutils package (based on 2.9.1) supports MMX instructions.
The next binutils package (based on 2.10 or 2.10.1) will support SIMD
and MMX and 3D Now! assembly instructions.
gcc doesn’t have any support for these instructions.
Does it mean, we are able to write MMX instructions with the current version
of the assembler with QNX6?

You can use nasm - it compiles clean under QNX6.
The lastest version supports MMX, SIMD and 3DNOW ops.
