tinit use?

Under QNX 4 tinit could restart any tasks that had terminated by specifying
it as a command line parameter. Under the new RTP the usage of tinit
appears to have changed, can any task be restarted with it? I looked in the
help but it appears to be more of a photon application now.

Has this functionality been moved to another process or has it been
abandoned completely?

You can specify services to start in /etc/config/ttys by
using:

device commandline terminal

ie

/dev/ser1 /bin/login qansi-m
