Hi,
I am guessing this is a file permission thing, somewhere, but here are
the symtpoms.
- QNX RTP 6.1
- Printing to a Jet direct printer on the net
- root can print through Photon (editor, Voyager for example)
- root can print from command line (lpr -P
- But, other users cannot print, either from within Photon or command
line
Changed permissions to 777 (and 666) for all files in /usr/spool and
below, and in /var/spool and below, and no difference
I do note that /var has permissions of 711 and /usr has permissions of
755, but would think that ought to be sufficient.
Any ideas anyone?
thanks, bruce
Is your lpr suid root? It’s perms should be -rwsrwxr-x (4775) and be owned
by root.
cheers
