I have QNX 2 system installed on Conner hard disk (121 MB). When I tried to
boot from it on my 486 Machine then I got “Boot Failure” error. Hard disk
was working fine. Sometime it boots and some time not. Now it’s not booting
at all. I don’t have boot floppy. Can anybody guide me how to make bootable
floppy or from where to download it? I think I need to recreate the mbr.
Also tell me how to fix the problem of hard disk.
has any values in your cmos changed wrt the disk drive parameters? that
could be the problem.
with qnx2 you will want t system where you can disable lba mode and program
in directly the values for heads, tracks and sectors/track.
if you don’t have a boot floppy, and no reliable way to boot that system
then the best approach is to call our customer service and ask for a qnx2
floppy disk set… that includes a bootable floppy. in fact the entire os
and utilities fit on a single 1.4M bootable floppy.
