laptop installation

Hi there,

I’m having trouble getting QNX2 installed on a P133 laptop. The software
appears to install Ok from floppy, but when the machine is restarted, it
hangs at the boot loader screen (the load arrow just goes static). I have
all cacheing and on board devices disabled. If I boot again from floppy I
can mount the HDD OK manually and see all the files but it will not boot
from HDD. I have defined the partition as 0-1023 cylinders (about 50% of the
drive). If I change the partition to 1-1024 cylinders I get ‘missing
operating system’ at boot time.

Any ideas anybody?

Thanks in anticipation,

Russ Bilbey

a few things…

the disk driver being used from the floppy to mount the drive and the disk
driver (disk.atc) on the hdisk must be the same binary.
if you installed from floppy then hopefully this is true… you could check
this though.

i would recommend:

boot from floppy
mount the disk (mount disk 3 /drivers/diskatc pa=qnx)

search 3

redo the boot command:

cd 3:/

boot 3:/netboot/os.2.21.atp d=/drivers/disk.atc
