Pentium P-90 and QNX2

Hello all:
I’m trying to get QNX2 installed on an IBM Model 45H, Type 6576 machine.
When I attempt to boot from the hard drive, the QNX loader starts, the arrow
rotates a bit and then it hangs there and tries to access the hard drive.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to get the machine to
work with QNX? By the way, I’ve been to QNX’s web site and reviewed the
documents about getting QNX to work on faster machines and tried everything.
Also, on this same machine, I cannot get the Corman Arcnet card to be
recognized. I never get the ‘node n’ message during boot up. Any
suggestions on that one?
Thanks.

I’ve never heard of this machine. What is it?

When I attempt to boot from the hard drive, the QNX loader starts, the arrow
rotates a bit and then it hangs there and tries to access the hard drive.

The most common reason for this behavior is that there is a mismatch between
what QNX 2 thinks the hard drive looks like (Head,Track,Cylinders) and what
the BIOS thinks. Sometimes the BIOS is adjustable, and sometimes not,
in which case you would have to make the QNX 2 driver aware of the
different view.

There is no support from QNX, and many possible pitfalls. For example,
good luck if you are dealing with an 8+Gig hard drive.

recognized.

The Corman card used the standard Boot Scan method for being recognized.
Your problem suggests a likely incompatibility in the IBM’s bios.
