Software Engineer, Image Guided Robotics (Hollywood, FL)
Software engineer has development responsibility for implementing
robot control systems in C/C++ under Real-Time Operating systems.
Also involved are the integration and interfacing with image guidance
systems on various platforms and development of GUI flows. Future
projects in active instrumentation and surgical navigation tools are
likely.

Real-time programming experience, specifically: strong C language
programming skills, familiarity with GNU development tools (gcc nd
gdb), experience with POSIX RTOSes (QNX Neutrino or LynxOS)
experience working in and doing light system administration for
Unix/POSIX operating systems (QNX, LynxOS, Linux, BSD, or SunOS,
etc.) -
Good design skills, demonstrated in at least one domain (hardware,
software, algorithms, etc.) -
Background in either or both:
o Robotics (design, kinematics, haptics, calibration, sensors,
and/or actuators), with experience in applied or experimental
robotic systems
o Control Theory (especially non-linear and/or robotic control),
with experience in applied or experimental control systems -
Optional qualifications evaluated on a per candidate basis:
o Experience with VME computing hardware
o Experience with interrupt handlers and hardware i/o on
x86 platform
o Formal software engineering background and skills
o machine vision/computer vision experience -
Ability to document work and communicate it effectively and

Senior Software Engineer, Image Guided Surgery (Cleveland, OH)
Maintain and Develop software interfaces between a surgical
navigation system and various peripherals. Maintain and develop
tools for segmentation, fusion, display, and analysis. Work with
Clinical and University partners to help define the features of
the navigation system.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with clinical partners to develop and evaluate new software
capabilities -
Maintain and improve proprietary Tcl/Tk extensions for
segmentation, fusion, display, and analysis -
Maintain and improve existing extensions for peripheral interfaces

Develop, document, and test new extensions as needed

Write documentation pages and testing scripts for new and existing
extensions -
Develop user interfaces for new applications
Education/Skill and Experience Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science,
Masters or PhD. preferred -
Strong background with a scripting language desired. Prior
experience with Tcl/Tk ideal but not required -
Demonstrated proficiency in C or C++, Unix or Linux, Windows (API)

Experience developing peripheral interfaces desired
