Line has not dial tone??? Then it’s not a standard phone line.
Check your modem’s manul some model have option to support
different phone line standard.

if you are able to send commands to the modem, just use “ATM0” or “ATL0”
Those are hayse commands to quit the modem’s speaker.

since my phone line is rather old.The modem starts but it quits fast fith

Wait for dialtone is a function of the modem, not the computer or qnx. You
need to consult your modem’s documentation to determine the correct command to
disable wait for dialtone.

You should put command “atx3” in your modem initialization.
