libasound.so/a for platforms other than x86

Sorry for crossposting, but there’s been no response in
qdn.public.qnxrtp.os, and I know this is the place to talk about USING
sound, but I figger’d someone here would know:

Does libasound.so/.a exist for platforms other than x86? I just refreshed
my qnx box with the latest and greatest OS/dev kits/etc, but just happened
to notice that libasound only seems to exist for x86 …

Note this is QNX 6.1.0 patch A, but I did NOT install the audio DDK, which I
don’t think I really need just to get libasound …

hey Patrick…

I just did the following on my 6.1.0A box…

cdm@katana → find /pkgs -name “libasound*”
/pkgs/repository/qnx/os/drivers-2.1.2/armle/lib/libasound.so.2
/pkgs/repository/qnx/os/drivers-2.1.2/mipsbe/lib/libasound.so.2
/pkgs/repository/qnx/os/drivers-2.1.2/mipsle/lib/libasound.so.2
/pkgs/repository/qnx/os/drivers-2.1.2/ppcbe/lib/libasound.so.2
/pkgs/repository/qnx/os/drivers-2.1.2/shle/lib/libasound.so.2
/pkgs/base/qnx/os/drivers-2.1.2/x86/lib/libasound.so.2
/pkgs/base/qnx/os/slib-2.1.1/x86/lib/libasound.so.1

Looks like I have them all. Can you do a simular check?

No, I have no directory:

/pkgs/repository/qnx/os/drivers-2.1.2

But I do have a directory:

/pkgs/repository/qnx/os/drivers-2.1.2-patchA/

but this directory only has an x86 directory under it, and this subtree is
pretty sparse.

Now, when I installed patchA, I had to tell it to uninstall a bunch of other
stuff, because I didn’t have room for all the existing stuff AND patchA. I
guess maybe either I had it remove too much, or I removed some base install
that had the libasound.so.2 files in it. My guess is that libasound did not
change in patchA, but maybe nearly everything else in the system did? I
haven’t had any other problems or niggles with patchA, although I’ve only
had it installed for a week or so …

And did you install the PatchA packages for all the other CPU platforms?
I am surprised you don’t have a driver-2.1.2.

Anyone else care to comment?

Found my problem. I think. I only have “QNX for x86” installed, and not
the other “QNX for <platform” packages installed. Of course, all I really
need out of these is libasound.so. Kinda sucks to have to install > 300M
worth of stuff just to get these … I doubt I have space for them, besides
