Hi,
Our application involves putting a custom QNX Neutrino image onto a 7MB
DiskOnChip, and putting that into a small PC. We’ve hit production, and so
now need to get away from me (the author of the QNX application running on
Neutrino and builder of custom Neutrino images) having to use a hard drive
and program each chip myself as necessary.
The ideal solution looks to be the M-Sys 8-way gang programmer - the problem
being that I’ve not been able to find a single statement anywhere that it
will clone a QNX partition in the DiskOnChip; the user manual seems to imply
that it only copes with DOS partitions by referring to it directly in the
‘how to use the gang programmer’ section.
On the other hand, I found a document (another m-sys one, I think, but not
on the m-sys website) regarding building a custom QNX image for DiskOnChip,
and that mentions the gang programmer; the /implication/ is that it can cope
with QNX partitions, but it’s not explicit.
Does anyone know if the M-Sys DiskOnChip 8 way Gang Programmer does a proper
cloning, ie bit-for-bit, and therefore supports QNX Neutrino?
Thanks,
Nik Borton
Hi,
I used a Msystems gang programmer here at QNX to create some 200+ disc on
chip demos. It worked fine.
