We have an embedded system based around the AMD Elan SC520 processor. The
QNX 6 system boots directly out of Flash, copying the IFS image header to
RAM, as per the “ipl-SC400” stsartup code. However, during a boot, the
system frequently writes the message “crash at bootimage_init line 279”, and
then hangs. Unfounately I have no idea what or where this line is. I guess
its part of the startup code in procnto, but i can’t verify this as I don’t
have access to the source. Has anybody encountered this error before, or
have any idea what might be causing it?

I had the same problem on 486EX CPU board with QNX2.0. QNX support told to
me that it was
a problem with RAM access.
I had the memory test in my CPU BIOS setup, to boot more slowly

Can u please explain me how u could acheive booting out of Flash…R u using
BIOS or written your own IPL
R u using SC520 CDP board. Have any idea about BSP of Elan SC520. If u can
thro some light on this it will be of great help to me.I am trying to boot
- from the on board flash of SC520 CDP using BIOS
2)Writing IPL , but facing some problem coming out of Protected mode.I am
trying to use same protected mode code of SC400.
