QNX 6.2 boot problem

Hi List,

I just install QNX on my TOSHIBA Satellite laptop.
There is one 10G HD with 3 logic drive. I have Window 2000 and REDHAT installed already.

When I installed QNX I followed the instruction to
make a floopy boot disk. But I got these message when
booting:

Detected EIDE. Scanning for devices.
/. diskroot file for root not found on any file system
Starting with safe mode
Unable to locate fs-pkg

Then the machine dead, and I have to RESET my laptop.

Does anyone know what’s happening?

Thanks

Jun

Is there anybody who can answer my question?

Hi Jens,

When I install QNX on my laptop, it did not ask me to change partition. How to do that?

I doesn’t sound like you got QNX installed on any partions.

Did you change the QNX installation partion to QNX, QNY or QNZ in fdisk?

Jens,

Is there any documentation which I can follow to install
QNX 6.2 on my laptop? I did not find anything from QNX

As far as I remember - you can do a manual fdisk during installation. Sorry
has been so long since I did a QNX installation. But there should be at
least one partition of the QNX, QNY or QNZ type.

There might be - but not that I am aware of. You might want to try install
QNX on a dedicated PC with nothing else on the HD - that should be simpler.
