Look at the file “.vimrc” in your home directory.

Hello,
thanks for the help. It turns out that I have to create the .vimrc file
myself in the home directory. I thought it should have been somewhere when
vim was installed. The weird thing is that another QNX computer in the lab
has all kinds of features in vim without a .vimrc file. It might have been
configured when it was installed.

In the vim directory (e.g., /usr/share/vim/vim61) there is usually a
vimrc_example.vim and a gvimrc_example.vim that can be used as a
starting point.
