Hi all,
I’ve already posted this question in c.o.qnx,
but I didn’t get an answer. Maybe the wrong place
for such a simple thing.
There are two QNX-PC connected via a
crosslink cable. I am able to do a
remote login using telnet (ok, I know
better using ssh). So I wonder if its possible
to run photon programs on the remote machine
making the windows popping up on my screen.
I remember on unix systems its possible
including altering the ‘display’-variable
and do some magic with ‘xhost’…
Well, I don’t want to install a X-Server, so
is it possible to do this using photon?
Thanks for any hints,
Michael

Most Photon utilities (unless specifically disabled) support the -s server
command line option to connect to a photon server on another node.
I.E.
ped -s /net/test1/dev/photon myfile
will run ped on the local node but render it on /net/test1.

The X-server is giving you network transparency (run on server, display
on client). Photon is not network transparent, as far as I know.
Greetings,
Lars.
ped -s /net/test1/dev/photon myfile
You can also set the PHOTON environment variable…
export PHOTON=/net/test1/dev/photon
pterm &
voyager &
