SPecifing Password for ftp in Neutrino

Hi,

I want to ftp from a PC to my neutrino. I didn’t specify the password during
the installation, but ftp asks me for the password for login. I don’t know
how I could specify the password now in order to use ftp. I log in as
“root”.

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,

You need to do three things on your Neutrino box to ftp there as ‘root’

  1. run ‘inetd’
  2. in /etc/ftpusers, make sure that ‘root’ is not in there
  3. set a passwd for the root user using the ‘passwd’ utility.

Thanks,
-Jay.
