Hi,
I just installed self-hosted QNX 6.2.1 NC, which I wanted to use to
developp a small custom embedded system.
I wanted to use a x86 Bios/disk based SBC for my system, and I would
have liked to make it as small as possible. However, it seems I can’t
use the mkifs tool to build an OS image.
Have I missed something during the installation or has it benn removed
from NC version ? And if so, will I have to develop on the target board
or is there a way to install a tiny version of the OS and copy my files ?
Thanks for helping

It is not available on NC.
Grab the iso for QNX 6.3.0

Unfortunately I don’t think that mkifs will be kept after falling back
to 6.3.0 NC at the end of the 30 day eval.
I think I’ll try QNX RTP 6.1 : this one isn’t limited is it ?
Thanks

Have you not read any of the 6.3 install questions? All it takes is for
you to set the date wrong and it’ll never expire.
The re-activation of an expired key requires three steps:
1: Re-entering the license key.
2: Setting the date between the start and end of the license period.
3: Reboot.
After that you can set the date to any time before the expiration date
and it’ll happily stay enabled. This is probably true for first time
install as well.
