QNX6.2.1: en0 not recognized

I just installed QNX6.2.1 on an eMachines Pentium system. I completed the
installation (i.e. I “continued” the install and selected all packages for
install) and rebooted my system and I’ve done this successfully on an SBC I
have and all was fine there. But, on the eMachines system, when I login and
photon starts up and I select “network”, I don’t see the “Devices” screen -
I should have seen this screen with “en0” listed. Instead I only see the
“Connections” screen (the “Network” screen is available via a tab behind
this one). Is this because QNX doesn’t recognize my Ethernet adapter on my
eMachines PC? Any guidance will be appreciated.

Also, is there list of off-the-shelf PCs that QNX is compatible with?

Thanks again.

Eric

Here is some further info: the adapter is an “Intel Pro 10/100 Mbps built-in
Ethernet”.

Thanks again

Eric,
We have had this problem in our group. The ethernet drivers supplied
with qnx621 don’t recognize the chipset in the Intel Pro 10/100
ethernet. Since your ethernet is built in, you will need to get an
ethernet card. You can go to qnx.com to get a list of supported chipsets
and cards.

Try starting io-net as follows:

io-net -dspeedo vid=0xvvvv,did=0xdddd -ptcpip

where vvvv is the vendor ID from the output of the pci utility and dddd is
the device ID, also from the pci utility.

Hugh is right! I tried as he said. And my Intel Pro100 NIC is
correctly recognized.

It’s odd that this NIC is previously recognized by QNX6.1 version. But
the higher version doesn’t. Very strange…

io-net -dspeedo vid=0xvvvv,did=0xdddd -ptcpip
