Announcing: New Resource Manager Wizard (pre-alpha)

Trying to get a feeling for what’s useful and what needs to be done.

This is basically a “there’s something that compiled and looks like
it might work” kind of announcement for…

A resource manager wizard. The idea is that this will allow you to
specify options that you want for your new resource manager, and
you’ll receive a tarball with the code. It should be a fairly complete
code generator by the time I’m done.

Looking for feedback!

Cheers,
-RK

[spammed to comp.os.qnx too]

And, once again, my feeble brain forgot the give the URL:

Sigh.

Thanks!

More features are coming, like fixing up the code generation, adding user-specified
function names and data structure names, pulses, interrupts, etc. Unfortunately,
I’m going on vacation for two weeks so won’t have a chance to work on it again
until early March.

Congrats RK!
I’ve heard all nice words about your new book, from the people
around the world who received your free copy.
Keep the good work!

Hi RK…

you know, a tool such as this one will go long ways toward making QNX
less intimidating to people used to M$ $orld. I see that you have cgi
scripting under the belt now.

Any way, good product in the making. Is this a new book, or a product
that you will sell and support?

Regards…

Miguel.

I wouldn’t go that far as to say “under the belt” – it’s written in
C and is a horrible mess. I’m sure there are much better ways of
doing it

It’s just a cgi bin  I’ll see how much interest there is before
I decide how much more effort to put into it.

Cheers,
-RK

Regards…

Miguel.
