QNX 4 Licensing

Hello,

We purchased 3 QNX 4.23 licenses. They are apprently modular licenses
that is one license is good for 3 nodes. I deleted the /.licenses file
and ran license with the license disk in the floppy drive. I also ran
license -r /.licenses. licinfo -a is still report 0/1 licenses and netmap
is complaing which is related to not having valid licenses. Is there
anything else I can try or this is a genuine problem with the license?

You did not need to delete the /.licenses file. The old style licenses
(/etc/licenses) and new style licenses (/.licenses) aer compatable.

To install te licenses onto the hard disk run the license utility as:
license /dev/fd0

Then to refresh the in system memory copy of the licenses from the hard
drive type :
license -r

There was also a -R. I don’t remember the difference between -r & -R.

licinfo -a should now report all of your licenses.

Good luck.
