qcp utility under Microsoft Windows

Hi all,

I post here because I can’t find a better newsgroup to post this
question, related to QNX2.

I’ve used qtalk and qcp to copy files between QNX2 and QNX4 machines
with no network connection. Now I need to copy some files
from a QNX2 machine to a Windows 2000 or Windows XP machine. To do this
in one steep I’m finding a utility program that can run
on Windows and uses qcp protocol on a serial link.

Obviously I can copy the files from QNX2 to QNX4 on a first step, and
from QNX4 to the Windows machine on a second step. But at
this moment I’ve not any laptop with QNX4, and I’m trying to avoid the
work of backup my laptop, repartition it, reinstall Windows on it,
install QNX4 on it, reinstall all Windows software, restore Windows
data, … So I’ll wonder if anybody knows about that qcp utility under
MSWindows that I’m looking for.

Thanks in advance.

There are look to be copies of xmodem/ymodem/zmodem for QNX2 available
from:

ftp.qnx.com:/usr/free2/comms/qcp

There also appears to be a kermit archive at:

ftp.qnx.com:/usr/free2/comms/kermit/kermit.arc

Not sure which way you’re connecting – windows as terminal to QNX
or vice-versa.

Dunno if any of this will help.

Just to mention that an alternative to all this drama is to install vmware
on your laptop and run QNX4 under that. Works great (assuming you have a
reasonable amount of RAM in your laptop).

Of course the other suggestions are quicker/easier if all you want to do is
get a couple of files off the QNX2 machine.
