QNX nodes

Hello,

We shipped 2 of our PC-based controllers that run on QNX 4 to a customer. We
set each controller as node1. Now, they would like
to communicate with their windows server using SMBfsys. Is it possible to
keep both the QNX controllers as node1 and just change thier IP
addresses in the /etc/hosts file and be able to interface with their windows
server or would we have to set one control as node1 and the other as node2
If we have to change a control to node2, then it would casue some
inconvenience becasue we would have to rename the sysinit files, ph files
etc.

I appreciate your help

Thanks
Shashank

It’s not a problem.

Note that if you don’t add the node number of config file the system will
default and look for the file without the extention

I appreciate your help

If possible i’d like to keep the node numbers on both the controls
identical. All I want to do is to be able to add a line to the “/etc/hosts”
file of control1 that reads

192.168.3.42 node1 xxxx.com

and to control2 that reads

192.168.3.43 node1 xxxx1.com

But in the case of control2, it wont connect to the server whereas in the
first case it does.

Thanks
Shashank
