32MB address limit for ARM

Hi there,

I heard from a qnx guy a few years ago that QNX had the 32 MB address-space
limitation for ARM platform
because of using FCSE.
Nowadays can anybody update that lately?

Thanks in advance,
Patrick

They are still using FCSE because most ARMs have virtual caches. If you
don’t, you’d have to invalidate your cache on every context switch.

The only ARM with physical cache is ARM11. There was some talk about
ARM11-specific kernel in development, but I haven’t seen it yet. Note
though, ARM11 has lower MIPS/watt rating (compared to something like ARM7)
and is more expensive.
