Monitoring Serial Port

Hello,

I am interfacing a micro-controller (ADuC7024) with QNX6.2 through the serial port. I send commands to the micro-controller and it returns a bunch of text, with varying length. I’d like to create a thread that monitors the serial port and if the micro-controller has sent some information, it will printf() to the screen whatever text has been sent. Are there any recommendations for doing this? Should I attach an ISR to the serial port and wait for data to come in? Should I disable devc-ser? I am not quite sure how to go about this because the process must simultaneously send control commands to the ucontroller.

Thanks.
Matthew.

Look at ionotify and or readconf.

Unless you have no other choice, stay away from using ISR.
