crttrap:did not find any video modes??

hi: i’m using crttrap to detect the video card in a script file as following:

crttrap clear
crttrap -g1080,1024 -b8 trap

it reports back crttrap: did not find any video modes: resorting to VGA driver.

but on the same computer, if i do a ful installation using their CD, it can detect all the video modes,

what’s going on here?

Are you sure you want 1080x1024 as a video mode? If you look at the trap file what modes does it list and what driver is it using?
If you run “crttrap query” when you do the install what does it report?
