A couple quick questions.

When configuring /etc/printcap, the daemon can still be running, correct? We have noticed some issues with updating the printcap when connecting a new printer through usb.

Secondly, if a spooler is spawned when connected a printer is connected, if the daemon is slain, will that also clean up any active spoolers?

Basically it appears that since we support local printing through the spooler utility and lpd/lpr printing for remote printing, one of the schemes is clobbering the other. I am trying to figure out what the proper order of configuration is for dynamic attaching/detaching of printers in terms of lpd.
