Connection to Windows Server 2003 via Modem

Hi

I’m trying to connect to a windows server 2003 via modem, but my connection lasts few seconds. This is the log:

Serial connection established.
Using interface ppp0

Someone have an idea of what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks

Maneuloid,

You really should consult that link I posted earlier:

cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk713/t … e945.shtml

Anyway looking at this log file I see the following relevant stuff:

sent [CCP ConfReq id=0x1 <deflate 15> <deflate(old#) 15> <bsd v1 15>]

QNX side requests a CCP (compression control protocol) of deflate 15.

rcvd [CCP ConfReq id=0x3 < 12 06 00 00 00 f1>]
sent [CCP ConfRej id=0x3 < 12 06 00 00 00 f1>]

Windows side requests a CCP of 12 06 00 00 00 f1. The QNX side rejects this.

rcvd [CCP ConfRej id=0x1 <deflate 15> <deflate(old#) 15> <bsd v1 15>]

The Windows side rejects the QNX CCP of deflate 15.

sent [CCP ConfReq id=0x2]

The QNX side requests an empty CCP (maybe no compression control?)

At that point the Windows server requests a hang up.

I’d say this indicates that the 2 sides can’t agree on a compression control protocol. You better figure out what the windows server is expecting or supports.

Hi

Windows need MPPE but i don’t see that ppd support it. Can I make that ppd support MPPE?

Thanks

Connecting a medium-sized office network to the Internet has traditionally been a difficult process requiring separate computers and extensive knowledge of network devices. For many, making a connection to the Internet seemed costly and difficult to manage. With Windows Server 2003, making a connection to the Internet is easier, more secure, and can be accomplished with relatively inexpensive hardware and basic Internet service provider (ISP) services.
