sending specific characters via serial

Hi,

I’m testing out a serial device in qtalk and I need to send a specific ASCII character number. Is there any way to bind certain values to the keyboard (or even just one value)? Or is there some other program that would do this better?

The old ALT 123 trick with the keyboard should allow you to type any value
