Unexpected login message with ssh

When I ssh into my qnx 6.3 box, I get the following message:

Last login: Fri Jul 9 14:23:43 2004 from saruman
Welcome to QNX Neutrino!

I’m not sure what to make of this. /etc/default/login appears to be an export file where the var’s (other than TZ) lack assignments.

The final 4 lines happen when I ssh -OR- telnet into the box, so that’s probably the same problem (motd being called twice, maybe?).

So what causes the “bad line…” and “last login:” messages?

Many thanks!

As I mentioned here (a quick search of “login ssh” will find it), QNX’s /etc/default/login is not compatible with other Unix’s. The openssh build for QNX should probably “disable” the /etc/default/login. I thought cdm’s openssh build already took care of this. Maybe you are running an old build. Try his newer builds at qnx.wox.org/packages/6.2.x/
