We just put the source code and binaries for QNX Realtime Platforms ALSA 5
drivers up in /usr/free on www.qnx.com. Goto free software and search
on ALSA. Why did we do this?
- The source is GPL.
- I was hoping somebody would create more audio drivers
for cards not yet supported and then pass the code back to us.
- We have not done the integration for Raw Midi, Midi synths, and timers.
Maybe some keeners can tackle this and pass the code back.
- SBLive supports digital PCM through the SPDIF port. Anybody
knowing how to get the Direct AC3 going can look at the Trident 4d
wave
driver as a model and finish support on this driver.
Anyway, If you do something wonderful, let me know. Especially if its in
time
for RTP release.
Thanks,

Of course, the amount of “keeners” available to you is limited by how many
people currently have access to RtP…

A prototype will always be built, whether it is shipped, depends on how much
money is left in the budget.
Yes, but if someone was really serious about any of the things
I mentioned as desired extensions, I would like to
talk to them directly. Maybe something could be done.
Jim
The code should compile with the QNX2000 CD if headers
are updated. Note that only the sample programs would
be expected to work. I have not tried a regression on the QNX2000 CD.

Yikes. I know the date, but if its not on the web site I guess I can’t say.
Sorry,
Jim
For sure we are in the home stretch. Works great. Really exciting stuff.

??? qnxrtp.exe is FAR smaller then 140MB. I have never seen an archive
bigger than 28MB for the base package. You must have an old archive.
By the way, what does this have with ALSA.
Maybe this should be
a separate post.

well, this summer is veeery long & hot for qssl folks…
maybe they moved from cold canada in zimbabve and awaiting for the
summer’s
killer first snow ? >
ps: btw, testing qrtp’s demo seems like ~140mb archive first must be fully
unpacked and only after this the installation is launched. it was nice to
hear after looking at the moveless progress bar during 10 mins that the
installation program cannot find any sutable drive with at least 350mb
free
and will be grateously terminated… >

anyway, it dosn’t want to run propertly. i’v installed it on the second hdd
fat primary drive d, installation passed ok, next after booting from this
drive i can see two scenarious:
- when booting from second hdd (telling bios to boot from drive d) it
cannot find packages and hangs up. it mounts all qnx4 and dos partitions and
of couse mistmatches hd0 & hd1 (image is located on hd1). ok, that’s should
be so i guess.
- booting from this drive i can boot dos but when i boot qrtp - black
screen without any messages and total hangup

the installer is a “standard” windows installer, it use the env temp variable
for the temporary. the default is c:/windows/temp IIRC try pointing the temp
to a drive with more space ( I think " set temp=d:\temp " will work if D:\ has the space)
