QNX boot from CD-Rom, because havent HD

Is possible booting QNX from CDrom, preconfigured for connects to a server
(this server export a partition) and QNX mount this “export partition” as
network unit to save data.
This is because PC havent a Hard Disk to save data, then this PC booting QNX
and main applications from CD-ROM. For save, load data and aplications uses
the connections to the server (export partition).

It is possible to do it with QNX ?

OBERV:

The idea is have a PCs’network haven’t HARD DISK, the OS and main
aplications loads from CD-Rom. For save data y load others programs can do
it from a SERVER.
This plans is for PC only connect to Internet Aplications.

A better way might be to have a small flash card (or other small bootable media) that has
the boot image then mount a filesystem. Or if you want to use off the shelf hardware
use bootp to load an image over the network ( thats what we do here at Qnx software systems)

No you can’t use the QRTP Cd rom to boot from a server,
nor set one up.

At the moment QRTP setup as a server doesnt support bootp
or netboot.

You could manage to install QRTP on a QNX4 machine
and the create an QRTP image that the QNX4 machine
would send over the network if you have the BOOT rom,
but that’s funky stuff.

Or if you don’t have a BOOT rom you could create
a boot floppy.

Woops sorry I though I was in the QRTP conference.
