3C905Band 3C905C Network Adapters

I will probably purchase several 3Com 3C905 network cards for a QNX 4.25
network and I am looking for comments by others who use these cards
regarding there performance.

Basically, were these NICs trouble free,or did you encounter problems?

Thanks,
Alan

Once I got the updated driver the 3c905c has been fine (I was using Dec 99
CD).
I ‘believe’ this driver is included in the latest release (QNX4.25D).
Sorry, no performance specs

We had major problems with the 3c905b, and they didn’t go away with an
update to the driver. Maybe it was just us, but I don’t know. Most reports
I’ve read, claim the updated driver works fine with the 3c905c card. The
card has a chip from a completely different manufacturer than the first to
3c905’s.

Why not try the cheaper Bay Network’s Netgear FA310TX. That’s what we went
with finally, and it works great! I even think 3com bought this company.

Hi,

We use 3C905B -Combo PCI cards on QNX 4.25D, BUT with the latest driver
release, also on the QRTP platform on a 10/100 Mbits network shared with W95,
W98, NT, without any problems, but I have no performance rates.

Alain.

The 3C905B’s should work fine, but the C’s tend to work better.
