Does anyone remember the old CMC tcp/ip solution on QNX2?
I’ve got a customer who has two spare CMC cards (bought them
used 'cause they’re not made anymore), but needs to know how
to get them licensed so they will work on their very, very
legacy system. The paperwork for the cards is long lost.
Apparently, the licensing is embedded on the board, and can
be read out and placed on the command line in the sysinit
file.
Anyone here remember how this works?

The Fastech TCP/IP QNX2 Software communicate with the serial number
on board and will run with the shiped board only. We have a TCP/IP QNX2
solution for this board which works w/o a serial number on the board, but
isn’t
supported since we came out with our new ISA solution in 1997(now for PCI
10/100Mbps available too.)

I would agree - get a new board and use SWD’s TCP/IP implementation,
unless you have software that requires FASTech’s socket library. In that
case, you are SOL as we have not supported that product (or QNX in
general) in a number of years - we don’t even have the systems required
to generate the license numbers or run the hardware/software any longer.
Sincerely,
William Boyle
Principal Software Engineer
Brooks Automation, Inc. (merged with FASTech in 1998).
