booting freeze

hi !

I just install QNX Realtime Platform.
I have win98 SE FAT32

When I boot, it stop at :
installing /dev/par port 378

I can wait 5 minutes and nothing go on.
Num lock del does not open

do you have an idea ?

Hi,

It seems QNX has trouble accessing your Parralell port, so if you are not
using it, try disabling it in your Bios, or else, try setting it to another
address using your bios. Or it might simply be the mode (ECP,EPP,Normal),
you could also try changing this setting (in the Bios that is)

What kind of video card to you have? Do you have any other
special HW in your computer (ie. pccard, etc.)?

28.8 USR modem
Netgear network card
old 6x goldstar cdrom
Creative 6424 cd burner

It is a P3-667 mhz
MSI motherboard
128 meg ram

I try to disable my parallel port …
I got another trouble : It now freeze after this :

file / .swapfile added as swap device
File / .swapfile successfully added as swap device
FREEZE**

Try this:

  1. Begin booting into QNXRTP.
  2. At the first opportunity, press [SPACE BAR] to get the boot options
    menu.
  3. Select option ‘B’ to disable PnP.
  4. Hit [RETURN/ENTER]

From this point on, you shouldn’t hang at “installing /dev/par port
378” again. (I don’t know why this works, just does).
