QnxRtp how much faster on its own partition ?

Hi

What i mean is,
Can i keep rtp installed as a hard file and not loose much performance
gain?

What’s the best benefit of running QnxRtp on its own partition?
If the anwser is “speed”, how much speed?

Just asking!

From what I know there is no difference in speed performance.

The only difference is once boot through Windows so booting
take more time.

I have tried both, and it seems to me that there is a large filesystem
speed improvement when QRTP is in its own partition, rather than in a
file on a FAT32 partition. It also seems faster than installing as a
file on a QNX4 filesystem. This is not a scientific answer - I might
just be kidding myself, but it seems faster.

Could well be cause by the physical location of the file system per say.

I’m not an expert in this regard, but I would expect a performance penalty
especially if your qnx4 image is fragmented all over the fat partition.
fs-dos.so has to do some work behind the scenes.
