phdialer prob

Hello, i’ve some problem connecting to my ISP with the free QNX Rtp…
all parameters are good, my modem is good too, but…

here are the message from the terminal during a connection:

connect 45333/arq/v90/lapm/v42bis
Link Established
Negotiating PPP connection
pppd[536595-1]: pppd 2.3.5 started by root, uid 0
pppd Started
pppd[536595-1]: Using interface ppp0
pppd[536595-1]: Connect: ppp0 <–> /dev/ser1
pppd[536595-1]: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
pppd[536595-1]: Connection terminated.
Connection Terminated
PPPD connection closed

then, after 3 or 4 seconds the connection failed and the modem
hang up…

i’ve tried the interactive connection too,
i’ve got an IP address after entering login & password
but the connection is closed after some seconds…

my ISP do not use special parameters and i’ve already
tested this ppp connection under: windows, linux, beos and even
Solaris…

any idea ?

best regards

Jeff PALOS

What pppd arguments do you use under linux? Can you post the output
from phdialer -d

Hello, i’ve finaly resolv this prob…

i’ve installed QNX from the iso file burned on CD, and on this
everything works , even my ISP connection.

It’s seems that there are some difference between the first version
i’ve tried ( 24 mb file : http://qnx.tucows.com/qnxrtp.exe ) installed under
windows file system and the iso file ( 91 mb file :
http://qnx.tucows.com/qnxrtp.iso)…

I didn’t check for version diff …

I used the iso too, but I didn’t burn it on a cd, because I don’t have a

cd-burner: I used the iso filesystem under linux to mount the iso and
then I copied the content into a direcory on a FAT partition. Then under
windows I used the program subst to assign a disk letter to that
directoy and then I installed the whole system.

But it still doesn’t work…

is it possible that the different installation procedure makes the
difference?
