QNX Window Managers

Hello. I have been snooping around the QNX site, and found these-
QNX Windows
X-Windows system for QNX.
Can anybody tell me what they are, and if so is it possible to download them
for free somewhere? Also, are they included in the RTP package?

Thanks,
Keven

QNX Windows is a (the first) QNX Windowing system. It was developed by Frank
Kolnick of Basis Software and was (is?) distributed by QNX Softeware Systems
Ltd. (QSSL).

X-Window System is a port of X-Window to QNX. I am not sure how supported it
currently is.

I do not believe that either of the above are downloadable free of charge.

Photon is the QNX (and I am quite sure it comes with the RTP software) Graphical
User Interface. It is quite slick, architected like QNX itself, small, and
nice.

it is supported in QNX RTP ... I have managed to install "X for Photon" package and run xterm as well

the "X for Photon" package _is_ available for free in standard QNX RTP free delivery, at least - it is in CD-ROM ISO image

QNX Windows run on QNX4 while RTP runs on top of QNXNeutrino
QNX Windows is the previous generation of GUI, it only runs on QNX4

X-Windows is for QNX4 and is not available for QNXRtp. However
QNXRTP has an X-Windows server.

Thanks,

Some folks (http://www.palmira.net/~qnxfree86) ported XFree and KDE to
QNX/Neutrino a while back. I don’t know if it will run unmodified on the RtP
version of Neutrino, but it is worth a try.

I’d say, keep with the photon, it is a hell of alot better than KDE or GNOME in
that it is fast, great icons, stable (hasn’t crashed yet for me).
